1) Safari

South Africa is the perfect destination for a walk on the wild side with little ones in tow. South Africa has a great range of game reserves that are located largely in the Eastern Cape, and also provide the the option to combine your safari holiday with a beach stay or bustling Cape Town.

2) The Caribbean

Featuring soft white sands, warm turquoise waters and glorious sunshine, the Caribbean is the perfect destination for relaxing and fun-filled family holidays. From the pretty coves of Antigua to the sophisticated shores of Barbados; and the lush rainforests of St Lucia to the mysterious ruins of Mexico, the Caribbean has a great range of unique destinations. If your definition of a perfect family adventure includes diving into clear waters to explore colourful marine life, teeing off from world class golf courses, unwinding at the spa and feasting on sumptuous cuisine while safe in the knowledge that your kids are having the time of their lives – then the Caribbean is a must.

3) Inca Trail

Peru’s enchanting Lost City of the Incas, otherwise known as Machu Picchu features a trail leading towards the Inca kingdom in the clouds. It combines jaw-dropping scenery, lush cloud forest, sub-tropical jungle and a mix of Inca ruins.

The Inca Trail is one of the most arduous in the world, involving on average four full days of hiking – reaching altitudes of 4,200m – and camping on mountainsides. Perhaps not suited to little ones, but for active, adventurous parents with older children, Peru will be a thrill!

4) The Far East

With a kaleidoscope of different cultures, religion, cuisine and scenery, there are few parts of the world that conjure up such colourful and magical images as the Far East. From the idyllic beaches of Thailand, a country where children are universally adored, to the melting pot of cultures and spectacular gold sand beaches of Malaysia and Bali, Far East family holidays offer a world of adventure off the beaten track.

5) The Middle East

Last but not least on our list is the the Middle East. Alluring Arabia is a veritable Aladdin’s cave of treasures and its intriguing fusion of traditional and ultra-modern influences can be seen everywhere. Sleek skyscrapers and palatial resorts give way to atmospheric souks and magnificent mosques, whilst the sweeping sand dunes and ancient forts seem worlds apart from the glitzy malls that lie beyond. Bask on pristine beaches, haggle in the colourful bazaars or enjoy thrills and spills at fabulous waterparks. And we’re just talking about Dubai. Indeed a must go!
